Will Robots Take Our Jobs?

Chief Data Scientist Anthony Scriffignano discusses how human work could be enhanced by "robots" and the implications of allowing robots to make decisions on behalf of humans. Anthony describes scenarios where automated agents could decide much faster than humans, and the difference in time could be the difference of acting and not acting. There are potential medical and military scenarios where robotic surgeons would need to make life saving decisions on the spot. Maybe under certain scenarios we would do better by seeding some decisions with machine learning programs. But we must be very careful about empowering robots to handle these jobs because if we rely on machines to make military or surgical decisions we would be putting our lives in the hands of these tools.
